Adobe Captivate issue of displaying Failure text box.

Adobe Captivate is a software which is very famous in the eLearning domain. It is useful in creating eLearning content. It has few issues, and while doing research about one such issue I had not found any proper answers on the internet, so thought to share the solution I found out during my research. We are discussing the latest version of Adobe Captivate 2019 Release. Hope you have intermediate/Advance knowledge about Adobe Captivate.

Figure 1.1: Click box with Success and Failure messages

Issue: “Failure” display is not working in “Click box” object from the “Interactions” menu.

Case: It’s a very weird problem, it seems a bug in the software itself.

When you place two text boxes as right and wrong answers, to activate it, we need to place ” Click box” from “Interactions” menu. With this “Click box” comes three text cum click areas which are “Success”, “Failure” and “Hint”.

When someone clicks on “Click box”, as per standard functionality of “Click box” one/two objects should show up (Success-Hint or Failure-Hint etc.)

But you just want to show “Success” or “Hint” then it’s fine because it will work fine. But if you want to show the “Failure” text message after clicking on “Click box” your problem starts, it will not show the “Failure” message.

Solution:

Figure 1.2: Hint box spread over Text box which we want to show as a wrong answer, and Click box on the right side of the same Text box.
  1. Very simple solution but little weird…..when you want to show “Failure” message, just use the “Hint” area to click and reduce the “Click box” to the minimum (don’t delete it completely)…Whoa!!! problem solved 🙂
  2. Don’t forget to select “Success”, “Failure” and “Hint” options as per your choice from Property area on the right. Check Figure 1.3.
  3. For “Sucess”, just place “Click box” on the text box which you think will be the correct answer. After someone clicks on this “Click box” success text will appear.
  4. Check Figure 1.2 and Figure 1.3 for more understanding.
Figure 1.3: Hint box spread over Text box which we want to show as a wrong answer, and Click box on the right side of the same Text box.

Note: Above procedure is for students/professional/users with intermediate knowledge of Adobe Captivate 2019 and not for beginners.

After receiving Best student of the year award (First rank), Thank You Speech for AICP 2018-19 batch convocation in Xavier’s Institute of Communications, Mumbai by me:

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen!

Today I stand here with a tremendous sense of pride as we have all assembled here to celebrate the completion of our AICP course. This is a very auspicious moment for my family and a great honor for me to receive this award. I am truly obliged for this great honor and recognition given by the management and the XIC, Mumbai.

Being honest, the journey through the course and subsequently towards this award was not easy; in fact, it was very long and tedious.

First, winning this honor wouldn’t have been possible without my family’s moral support and inspiration; they are truly my backbone. Thanks to them. Thanks to my Mom/Dad, my wife, and two lovely daughters, who also sacrificed something in this journey as I was always away during every Saturday and Sunday due to the classes. So, no outing, no fun trip, no functions, etc. Now hope they are very happy that their sacrifice paid off and I completed this course with good grades.

I’m sure of one thing that with conviction & hard work everything is possible. Dreams too. So, just stick to your dreams. And never feel left out, irrespective of your scores, as with time “marks, percentage, etc. will lose significance” but “what you become will always remain cool/ in vogue”.

This is not about grades and first/second position because I know that everyone in my batch is a champion and a winner, I want to thank every classmate from the bottom of my heart because not only professors/lecturers taught me something, but I learned many things from you all lovely classmates. Love to have a nice and cute family of AICP batch 2018-19.

I still remember in college initial days, many people asked me that why you joined this course? I had no answers at that moment except to say that “I love to learn new things and get as much knowledge as possible”. Today after completing this course I can say with confidence that I was not wrong. With changing market scenarios and the advent of new technologies every day, its must for everyone to abreast with the latest knowledge in your industries. During this course, I learned many things from Marketing, Brand Management, Corporate Communication, Digital Communication, and New Media…. which touched all aspect of new social media marketing as well. With the interaction of some of the brilliant minds as a faculty member during this course, this course is worth time and money spent on it. After completing this course now, a whole new domain is open in front of me to explore more in every subject taught during this course. So, learning never stops…

Very well-structured course indeed, and thanks XIC family and Rajeev sir for providing their full support during this course. He is not just a professor but a true mentor.

About XIC:

Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) is one of the best communication colleges in India, and it’s a great achievement for me to do a course from here. The campus is simply brilliant. There is something about the campus that makes you fall in love with it. For the time I was there, I would always take a stroll and marvel at the beauty.

To our professors:

Thank you for making learning our passion. Some years from now, it will not be the grade you gave us that mattered, but the lessons you taught us through the textbooks, the discussions, and the project/assignments. You all are wonderful.

Although doctors heal, lawyers represent, contractors build, and bankers invest, you help instil in us the hunger for knowledge, the passion to learn, and help ignite the flame to set ablaze our dreams. If it were not for the teachers in our lives, you would not sit or, in my case, stand before you today.

To the administrators and staff:

Very humble and great staff XIC have you always supported us during our course with your technical capabilities and lovely smile on your face. Sophie, I still remember that Gulabjamun you offered me when I came to the office for the first time. Staff people log with us during Saturday and Sunday during our class to support us technically. Thank you for allowing us to make mistakes, supporting our efforts, and celebrating our accomplishments.

Last but not the least, we will surely miss our canteen Thali and kadak chai….or discussions in the canteen on our project/assignment ideas or selection of nearby affordable restaurant for lunch…

Once again thank you all…and best wishes in your future endeavors…”

No School Please

How many of you are facing the challenge of sending your ward to school? Different kids embrace school differently depending on their family background, school environment, and the teacher’s mannerisms.

At a tender age of two or three, kids are too small. A little scolding, harsh tone adds to their difficulties of going to the school. Sending school to my younger daughter has always been an uphill struggle for me. Whenever there is a long weekend the trouble doubles.

We have tried every possible path in establishing a good rapport between her and the school. Starting from meeting with the teachers to counseling the child. It is a common problem every other parent is facing.

The sudden pressure of leaving their Cosy couch and getting stuck in a time-bound routine builds constraints in their little minds. We have to be loving, patient and serious in dealing with children if they are unwilling to go to school.

Children need our faith in them to allow them to be understood completely. They shouldn’t be left unattended, alone and feeling insecure in their early years of a schooling. No doubt children want our shield every single second but for a toddler and a primary school child, there is always an extra baggage of worries jumping out from their school bags.

Give them extra time and more hours than you have in your watch…

Anything for TRPs

Working kids

Amidst the growing talent hunt platforms of varied genre its easy to catch the road of choice. In India currently, different shows using the kids and teens to get higher TRPs are enjoyed by a huge mass.

The youth and kids are captivated by the limelight and glamour of the media. Television Rating Point (TRP) is all about scoring maximum viewers attendance on a show…But nowadays it is achieved at the cost of sacrificing our humanitarian and moral values. What is picturized is adapted by the viewers. To get an applaud the creators compromise the basic instincts.

I sometimes wonder that what these young kids are going through. And worried when I read stories, which tells that they are skipping schools and working 8-10Hrs for daily soaps. In some cases, their parents are responsible to force these kids to satisfy their failed dreams to become a star…

Lots of ads and serials are using or encashing cuteness of these little souls to sell their contents or products. One case is with a current running serial, and it’s a story about a small girl who is a talented singer, motherless and an innocent child caught in the circle of cunning, cruel and a hoggish world.

The serial has talented actors, but the focus of the story seems more about the pain/torture which an innocent child is inflicted upon by others. Enormous torture, offensive language, humiliating situations giving sobs to the little child daily…The tears and the sadness of kid character in that serial can make the viewers cry. In another serial which has been stopped now, showed a story around a young boy(9 years) married to an older girl of 18 years…But do you think is it OK?

There are a number of talent hunt programmes running on different channels calling for the dancing, singing, acting talents in kids…Their aim is to catch, grab and hold the audience. Encashing the innocence of the children to achieve their business goals which may ruin kids future.

Neither the parents nor the kids understand the harm of the shows. The glamour seizes the senses and everyone is lost in this business.

We all need to understand that where we are going and what we need to provide to our future generations…..it’s up to us…just THINK and Brainstorm…

BAAGHI 2 – Movie Review

Baaghi 2 Review

After a long time, I am writing something… I thought to include all my interested fields and domain under this blog instead of just Technologies…

This post is about movie review of ‘Baaghi 2’.

I have interest in martial arts, and so love martial art action movies. Two action stars in Bollywood, Tiger Shroff, and Vidhyut Jhamwal which attract my attention. Selection of bad movies seems the problem with Vidhuyt. What may be the reason…he is not making his mark even though he has potential.

But Tiger is having internal/Industry links and support, but his movie like Baaghi 2 was not at all impressive, not due to his efforts but because of a very weak storyline. Let’s talk about Baaghi 2, I went with the high hope and lots of hungama about the success of the movie. But even after stellar performances and efforts by Tiger, Manoj Bajpai, Prateik Babbar etc. film is weak it seems…Hats off to Prateik for his stellar performance…

Scriptwriter tries to develop a very intriguing story but it seems all went wrong while screenplay. Introduction scenes of Tiger and Disha Patani were weak, it would have been made innovative and effective. The suspense in movie try to bind you but many unanswered questions are also their…I can’t divulge more as this is a suspense-thriller. Research or time does not spend properly during the creation of characters, example, a character of ACP (Randeep Hooda). I don’t understand the character of Randeep Hooda, why he behaves weird and openly use drugs, abusive languages even in front of his seniors? Another one, a constable whose face was not shown, an assistant of Randeep Hooda, this constable starts crying when Randeep ask any question to him? God knows why? and I feel it’s a kind of insult to Indian Police department upright officers.

It seems, after watching this film that everyone is dealing with only drugs in Goa. While watching you don’t understand where the story is heading. In the climax, we suddenly know that there is a dense forest near the city…the main villain has a resort there with helicopters (not one, more) and lots of foreign martial artists with lots and lots of guns and ammunition…. God knows what our intelligence agencies were doing. Director tries to give Rambo like feeling when hero put heroin ka dupatta on his hand. Lots of shooting/blasting/fighting happened in the climax…. which was not convincing but yes Tiger Shroff put’s his great efforts in fight scenes. Interestingly, police party and army etc. were just waiting outside of this dense forest…. again, God or director knows why? Hero, who is a martial artist, who beats 500-1000 people in the climax was easily beaten up by a very weak villain. In one of the last scene, very interesting shot, the hero was surrounded by 20-25 armed fighters….I was thinking that how the director will move forward from this point….Whoop, suddenly shot cuts and next scene starts…..after a few minutes, the director shows again that older spot where all fighters were scattered and dead….God knows how? Till that time, I had started searching for Exit door from that cinema hall….

As per reports, the movie is inspired by some south Indian movie. But my point is when you have invested so much money in it…. put some extra time also in research, character generation/creations etc. It seems that director wants to put everything in one movie i.e. Rambo, Ong Bak etc…. Just check commercials hits like Chennai Express, 3 Idiots, Munna Bhai MMBS etc…for screenplay….Like in Ong Bak they were aptly used Thailand culture/animals and embed fighting around it…as Indian, we have very rich cultural heritage…so can’t we create something interesting around it?

Suggestion for Tiger, dear you work hard but be alert on the selection of script. Just learn from Jackie Chan in this matter, he is the best inspiration for fighters in movies, not because he is a great martial artist but he knows the nitty-gritty of cinema and knows how to entertain cinema lovers.

Note: Views in this article are just a reflection of my thoughts as a viewer after watching this movie. I personally don’t want to hurt anyone/or movie business intentionally or unintentionally…

Don’t worry if your child swallowed a coin

Don’t worry if your child has swallowed a coin….

This just happened to me, my eight year daughter was sitting with me studying for her exams. I saw a five rupee coin on the bed few minutes before but didn’t pick it up as I was asking her the lessons.
Suddenly she patted her back and said in a husky voice that coin went inside……..
Her papa came running, pulled her upside down tried everything he could but the coin slide down the gut. We went running to the hospital did x- ray and showed it to the doctor, who just relaxed us by saying “Don’t worry give rich fibrous food, plenty of water and bananas to the child.”

But friends it took 14 days to pass out of her body….
My experience says that if the coin has easily slides your esophagus or the food pipe then it will come out through excretion.

But if it goes into the wrong pipe then you need medical aid immediately…
My daughter is weak in eating and too much of banana she was unable to eat may be this was also the reason why the coin took so long to come out. Salads helps a lot in sweeping the intestines. So I gave her salads and, in a day or two the coin was out.

Doctor says that our small intestine is very long and the food takes time to travel through it. If it’s a coin, then to come out it may take one or two days, eight days and may be fifteen to twenty days but it will pass out…

Just give plenty of fibrous food, salads, fruits, warm water, bananas etc…..
And biggest don’t panic, body automatically cleans the unwanted stuff………..
